Flinders Street Station

Eleven, a Malaysian-Chinese who currently studies in Melbourne sent me this postcard of Flinders Street Station in Melbourne or as the locals call it, Flinders Street or FSS. Eleven tells me that the station was built in 1909 and was the first railway station in an Australian city. During the 1920s it was the busiest passenger train station in the world. On a daily basis, the train station serves 110 000 passengers with 1500 trains travelling through it. The station serves the entire metropolitan area of Melbourne and has become a symbol of Melbourne. It really does seem rather impressive. Thank you Eleven!
