Timeless Masterpiece

Atomium, Brussels, Belgium

Atomium, Brussels, Belgium

Mieke from Belgium sent me this awesome panorama postcard of the Atomium in Brussels, Belgium. It was originally built for the Brussels World Fair in 1958 and when one looks at it today, it’s still looks futuristic. This World Fair thing is pretty awesome, it not only gave us this magnificent monument reaching 108 meters high, but also that other famous tower thing in Paris. You know the one I’m talking about, right? Anyway, the spheres of the Atomium contain habitable spaces with exhibit halls and public spaces, while the tubes contain escalators and a lift. The top sphere provides a panoramic view of Brussels and boy it must be a sight from there. What a brilliant place! Dank je Mieke!
