Growing Champers

Aube, France

Aube, France

I received this map postcard from Tamayre in France. It is of the Aube department in France, which is in the Champagne Region. Aube was named after the Aube River, which runs through it and is home to around 305 000 people. The Aube river is but 1 of the 23 rivers that run through the department. This region was first inhabited in 400 BC and was formally incorporated as a department of France in 1790. Aube’s industries are mostly focused on textiles but it is also the second largest producer of champagne in France. Great to learn about a place that I never knew about. Thanks Tamayre!
