This awesome postcard of Cambodia’s most famous landmark comes from Elma. This is the only religious monument in the world that I would actually make travel arrangements for and boy do I want to go there! Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world. The temple was built in the 12th century and was dedicated to the Hindu god, Vishnu. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, which is the home of the Devas. By the 13th century it saw an increased use in the Buddhist faith. Tourism figures released by the Cambodian government suggest that the site attracts around 700 000 foreign visitors per year. It is also part of the Angkor UNESCO World Heritage Site. Absolutely amazing place! Thanks Elma.
